A+ - Would dream again

Dearest Brain, I have no idea why you decided last night that I should dream about secret agent!Hakkai and double agent!Kanan. However, I do know that Hakkai's suit was most appreciated (nom nom nom), as was Kanan's beautifully orchestrated plan to drive him to a complete mental breakdown. I do wish the alarm had not gone off prior to finding out if the blood on his hands was real or an hallucination.

(This is the sort of dream that makes me want to go find a few tens of thousands of words of delicious fanfic...except I know fandom well enough to know that no fic starting with this premise could end at all well, and likely, it wouldn't begin well either.)

My iPod has a mind of her own

This morning on the way to work, I wondered why Dulcea kept playing songs that I'd never heard before. And then I remembered that I'd added some Xena fanmixes last week, and she was happily shuffling through those and ignoring the bajillionty other songs she knows. Which explains why I kept thinking, "Man, this would be an awesome song for a Xena vid!"

I keep thinking about Joxer, and why I don't like him. I mean, it can't be because he's an incompetent ass with an ego the size of a small planet, because that describes Darkwing Duck equally well, and I love Darkwing. And sometimes he manages to do things that make me want to pet him (defending a horse against someone who will wipe the floor with him and he knows it, because that horse matters to his friend, for example). But then he always turns around and makes me want to crack his skull with Gabby's staff, and I'm trying to figure out why I can't be all "LOL comic relief character let's slash him with Ares" like the rest of fandom.

(I also don't really like Salmoneus, but I can appreciate his entertainment value in a way I just...can't...with Joxer. Joxer I really want to erase from canon.)

I need to work on this "not getting enough sleep" thing, because I look like someone punched me in both eyes this morning.

So Amazon emails me...

...to let me know about this Spotlight Deals Event thing that...apparently started a week ago? Good timing there, Amazon; I actually had money to shop last week. :P Anyway, they taunt me with "Classic TV", listing examples like Bonanza and The Lone Ranger, and you all know I am weak, WEAK, against those!

Look where this link takes me; do you see any Bonanza or The Lone Ranger there? Because I DO NOT! (I mean, yes, I see Hawaii Five-0 and classic!Transformers, which are fine things, but I was all excited over the prospect of Bonanza, okay? In part because I am not actually sure it was ever properly released on DVD.)

*sulks*

*uses angry!Godzilla icon*

*debates whether it is worth searching Amazon for more Godzilla movies*

*wishes Amazon would list the date of the movie release, not the DVD release, idjits*

Edit: Well, going to Amazon was worthwhile in that I found a review listing all the Godzilla movies, and now know the direct sequel to Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla is Godzilla: Tokyo SOS, which is now at the top of my Netflix queue.

Shooting at Godzilla has never done anything other than make him angry, and then he goes all radioactive flame breath and destroys Tokyo.

Also, when your first test of your Godzilla-buster results in a swarm of giant killer dragonflies, you might want to rethink the whole "open a wormhole and send Godzilla through" thing. Because you don't know what else might come OUT. I'm just sayin'.

Edit: See, see?
Or at the very least, because whining sometimes works, and my motto is "do not ask, cannot has".

Could someone make me an animated icon featuring Sahz (from FF13) and Balthier (from FF12), and Dante (from Devil May Cry), that reads "Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man"? Blank background for the first frame(s), then a different guy for each frame of sharp, dressed, and man.

Yes, I could do this myself, but I'm lazy.

I would not say no to a similar icon featuring various incarnations of Zorro, come to that.

A thing I find interesting...

...about the Filmation version of The Lone Ranger, is that when the Ranger and Tonto are riding toward or away from the camera, Silver is always in the lead, but the side angles are always with Silver in the foreground, but Scout in the lead. This means that in any given Exciting Chase Scene™ Silver and Scout swap places after almost every cut. It's a little headache inducing.

This morning I also realized that, while I watched reruns of the live action series with Clayton Moore as a wee Dragovian, when I think of the Ranger it is, in fact, William Conrad's voice I hear in my head. I imprinted and imprinted hard.

Our Lady of Fish

"Coddess" might be my most favorite typo of "Goddess" ever.

I feel vaguely guilty for how much I enjoyed the first two DVDs of Dollhouse, given the amounts of "DO NOT WANT" on my flists regarding the show. I think it helps that I don't view Joss as particularly feminist, or particularly umm *cough* good, so I don't expect anything but standard fare from him.

I also feel vaguely guilty that I'm indulging in one of my favorite knitting projects, which is, sad to say, plain old garter stitch washcloths. I love having them in the shower, I love making them, but it feels a bit silly spending hours on something you can buy 15-for-$4 at Walmart.

I have a headache THIS BIG. :(

/random

...to watch a Herc/Xena/Iolaus three-way. Fight, I mean. Though I'm sure the other would have been fun, too.

Did we EVER see Herc use a sword for its intended purpose? Edit: Answered in this very episode; Herc does sometimes use swords against appropriately evil monsters.

This is just how the dead daughter trope would play if I were writing it.

( Cut for Dick and Jane style prose. Also, pretend there are illustrations. )

And now, I'm going to watch the next episode of Xena, which is the first Ares ep. Om nom nom pure sex wrapped in black leather nom.

Today I have done nothing but eat, watch DVDs, and knit

Tell me I'm not allowed to knit a <s>Herald</s>white and blue scarf, hat, and mitt set for next winter. Mostly, tell me this because gods know I never wear white (and also, by the time any of the above were finished they wouldn't be white, they'd be cat hair colored). But I have a lot of nice white wool yarn to use up...

I should not have watched the MANTIS pilot before the series, because going from that insanely pretty cast to the substantially less pretty cast of the series made it harder to watch (though, easier to focus on plot, so there's that). Plus, there was 100% less wet-Carl-Lumbly-in-swimtrunks in the series. I pout.

I have eaten approximately all the food in the world today, and am trying to convince myself I ought to eat the salad in the fridge rather than order pizza. I blame hormones.

Alas, I cannot blame hormones for the fact I've been too unfocused to write for something like three weeks now. That's just evil brain chemistry at work. Bad brain. (Though I did almost want to start my Lone Ranger-as-Herald fic today, in part because yesterday I found a site with some Lone Ranger radio scripts posted.
