Rec me something
Apr. 24th, 2013 11:35 amRighty, I just finished reading Terms of Enlistment
, and loving it against my expectations, and I am eagerly awaiting the sequel. Meanwhile, I am being the last person in the universe to read Old Man's War
, and I just bought The Price of the Stars: Book One of Mageworlds
for reasons I can't remember.
Anyway, one of the things I really liked in Terms of Enlistment (and I'm finding Old Man's War similar) is that the SF aspect doesn't have lengthy, loving descriptions of what makes things work, but rather "Then they gave us our armor/weapon/new body and it did these things, and I don't know how it works but FUCK it was cool. And then we blew shit up."
Basically, can anyone point me to readable MilSF available in ebook format that is not going to make we wade through half a tech manual to get to the good bits?
