Shards submission
Either I got the dates wrong, or the submission window has been adjusted. Not that I'm complaining; it's an extra month to finish my story.
Of course, it's ALSO an extra month to fuss over whether "hero triumphs over the villain by killing the hell out of him" is out of fashion in modern fantasy.

Given the theme, I feel that a mostly off-camera kill-it-with-fire should be okay? By their standards? *I'M* all for it, I miss the days when fantasy was almost guaranteed to end with "and the villian is dead and the heroes are victorious".

On the other hand, if that villain's gonna do the thing until they dead and that's the way they're written, then hey, you do what you have to do, hero, y'know? ;P
I guess I just like it all to make sense, to read like real people thinking out whether or not they really want to risk their life/take a life over the thing they're fighting over. I've enjoyed stories that end either way. :D
