As of right now
Aug. 10th, 2009 10:38 amMy ochre egg has hatched:
My striped egg that I bred is cracked half way down
, but the striped
and frill
eggs I picked up haven't even started to crack, even though they're slightly older and have about the same number of clicks/views/unique views. So odd.
Last night, as I struggled to finish and post my areyougame fic, I realized I was not as ready to go back to writing - at least, not on a deadline - as I optimistically thought when I signed up. But I am not displeased with the final version, and
myopicmirror04 liked it, so I guess that's the important thing. :D
Later I might post my dead-simple pattern for footie slippers, not because I think any knitters I know need it (it's dead simple; I'm amazed I didn't find twenty variations of it on Google*), but because...well, I didn't find twenty variations of it on Google when I was looking for easy slipper patterns. I knit it toe up in the round, which solved the big problem of having to seam things up (there is a small hole in the toe to stitch, that's all, and only because I can't be arsed to follow the tutorials for toe up socks), and there's a slight decrease at the heel, which solved the problem of the square, sticky-outy heel you get when you knit flat squares and sew them into slippers. I'm quite pleased with them. But I still don't understand why I had to work them out for myself. :(
I possibly indulged in far too much retail therapy last night. :-/
*I swear, if y'all proceed to link me to twenty variations of these on Google, I will CRY.
