Because I can honestly say that I have never had any of my Alliance chars get a guild invite literally 30 seconds after appearing in the starting area. My poor Tauren hunter barely had her hooves on the ground before she got her first. And then they whispered me. And then after I blocked guild invites, someone ELSE whispered me.
And then a bit later, whilst quietly engaged in pet battles in Orgrimmar, someone replied to my polite "No thanks, not looking for a guild" with "Yes you ARE." Umm, no. No, I am not. I am fighting a spiny lizard with my prairie dog. GO AWAY.
While I sometimes get whispered with guild invites in Alliance territory, I can honestly say that my polite "no thanks" has always been answered with blessed silence or "okay, thanks for your time."
