Twenty four day streak. Still a flamingo.

More Indestructible verse. In which Mike is annoying, KITT is stubborn, and I can't type, spell, or capitalize to save my life. (I am *this close* to just spending twenty bucks and buying Dante a keyboard like Rommi has at home, because seriously. Tiny flimsy keyboard is tiny and flimsy.)
The computer beeped, and Billy and Zoe engaged in a brief battle to see which of them would get to it first.
"Got it," Zoe said, shoving Billy's chair out of the way. "Satellites are detecting movement around the hangar KITT's in."
Billy pushed his way back t othe computer and the screen split between actual satellite images of the darkened streets, and a map graphic with a blinking red light marking KITT's location. "He's really moving. Has to be more than a joy ride."
"Okay. How fast can we intercept."
"Depends on how good I am at projecting a course," Billy replied.
Mike jogged over to KITT's side. "Come on, Junior, let's go save Daddy from himself."
KITT didn't answer. Mike pulled on the door handle, but the door remained locked.
"KITT, this is no time for games."
"I am not playing, Michael."
"What do you want?"
"An apology. What else?"
Mike rolled his eyes. "I'm sorry I called you Junior. Okay? Now come on, we have a tight schedule here."
The door popped open...grudgingly, Mike thought as he slid in.
He put on his seatbelt. "Billy send you the projected course?"
"Yes, and I have identified our most likely meeting point as being here." The HUD lit up with the map graphic, one intersection pulsing with a white circle.
"Well okay then, Junior, let's get moving!"
KITT's engine roared to life, but he said, "I recognize we have a job to do now, but you will pay for that, Michael."
Mike smirked. "What are you going to do, put shaving cream in my shoes?"
"Without appendages, that would be extremely difficult."
"Yeah, I know."
"I do, however, have friends."
"Okay, fine. No more Junior."
"Thank you."
"At least not until Daddy moves in with us."
KITT definitely took the turn out of the base faster and harder than was necessary.

"The system's already rebooting," Billy said anxiously. "Are we sure this thing's immobilized?"
"Don't be such a baby." Zoe finished the last of the hardwired connections between the knight Industries Two Thousand and the computers. "The first thing we're doing when KITT's back to normal is upgrading these systems."
"Will you protect me if we wind up with another evil supercar running around?"
"No." Zoe patted one smooth fender fondly. "But I might run away with him."
"You have issues."
Zoe grinned and said, "Let's get started seeing what's going on in there."
