So now she's in the back of my head going, "My god, these kids can't lie for shit. How are they ever going to scam their way into a crime scene? Even if you don't want them fighting, lying is a basic survival skill!" and the Autobots are going *facepalm x infinity* at her.
Naturally, now I want to come up with a situation that the Impalabot lies her way out of without even blinking, because that's what Winchesters do. (And yeah, she does think of herself as a Winchester, not an Autobot.) Possibly she lies her way out because she hasn't had a working weapons system since '71. ("It didn't occur to you to mention that?" "I haven't even transformed in forty years, what do you want from me?")
I think... I think I was considering some situation that looked like hte 'Cons, which meant the others were occupied, leaving the Impala to deal with the humans. Alternately, I think the 'Bots might have thought the 'Cons were busy enough that the humans coul dbe left unsupervised, and the Impala - Shadow - was still out from blowing off steam. But SHE had been monitoring the weird shit networks, because it's just habit to check in on what the Hunters are up to, and so after she cooled down she went off on her own investigation. And in the course of that, came across both Jack and come Cons, and was like, "You, backseat, now, keep your head down." Only it didn't work, and they were captured, and her reaction was, "Are you kidding me? I'm not an Autobot any more; haven't been in years." Which, coming from her, is all to believable. And maybe the Cons are involved in whatever supernatural whatsis is going on, because she becomes their expert consultant, and really, what's with all the focus on the human, just stick him over there and let's get on with business. And of course she's running a scam, Winchesters lie like they breathe. So Jack is all, "BUT BUT BUT" and that's when she repeats the "trunk big enough to hide a body" threat, and later when she rolls up she doesn't have to say a word, just pops the trunk and he's inside, adn they're gone. Only either the cons are smarter than tehy seem (possible, in this incarnation!), or the whatsis has gotten out of hand (more fun!), or the whatsis has gotten out of hand BECAUSE SHADOW RELEASED IT (ethically questionable, but also fun! sadly not out of character), and all hell hits the fan before Shadow manages to limp back to base and get her trunk torn open by Arcee (and then she's herded off into ratchet's care "I've had worse." "Can you even transform?" "*silence*" "THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT.").
