dragovianknight: Now is the time we panic - NaNoWriMo (WoW - Hardwire - LOL)

I always forget that. But I have no regrets over getting my hands on a free copy of the audiobook version of Dungeon Lord, because the narrator is a ton of fun to listen to as he does the dialogue of a raid group on Discord.

I'm only half an hour in, so not to the meat of the story yet, but I'm totally delighted by the DPS who pulls the boss, then rage-quits because the healer had better things to do than heal his squishy ass. Either the author plays WoW (and the game they're playing really feels more like WoW than a modern game) or he watched the Leroy Jenkins video too many times. XD

Not gonna lie, this makes me want to read LitRPG way more than the "here are all the character sheets in table form" books do.

For some reason, I have Arrows of the Queen on audio. I think Audible must have been running some kind of special, because I would not have paid full price for it. Anyway, I listen to it at random times through my Alexa when I'm bored or baking/cooking and want some non-musical background noise, and it is so slow going. But it's interesting to hear it in audio, with the different pronunciations of names and certain words (the narrator says "heraldic" with the accent on the second syllable, while I read/say it with the accent on the first syllable).

I've never heard the word spoken, either, but I always put the accent on the first syllable, because it's on the first syllable for herald and heraldry (which, being in the SCA, I hear all the time). I just checked the dictionary, though, and for heraldic, the accent is, in fact, on the second syllable. So I've been hearing/saying it wrong in my head all this time. Well, apparently, I've also been hearing "Alberich" wrong all this time, too. :)

Well, I've always pronounced it as Al (like the name)- burr - itch, with the accent on the first syllable. The audio book pronounces it Awl-burr-ick (also with the accent on the first syllable).
