Library Day: not going to plan
Jul. 19th, 2010 12:57 pmGot to the library and Dillon would absolutely not acknowledge his wireless switch was switched to on. As in, the little blue light stubbornly remained orange no matter how I fiddled and poked at the switch. After about half an hour the light turned blue, and then he'd locate the library network but not be able to connect. This went on for another twenty minutes or so before he finally connected. Meanwhile, I wrote my 750 words in Word. I'm connected (obviously) but getting lots of page load errors.
While I was messing with that, the library fire alarm went off. They quickly assured us there was no fire, everything was fine...but then the alarm kept going off for a good fifteen minutes. I hunkered down with Dulcea to muffle the noise and did my best to work. Erm, mostly I put Super Villain on loop because it's louder and more obnoxious than a fire alarm. (I may want someone to do a KARR vid to that, now.)
My S key is sticking. This means Dillon now has keys on ALL the rows to frustrate me!
On the up side, breakfast was good and I scored 11 paperbacks (including four Murder, She Wrote novels!) for $6.70. And the library IS air conditioned.
